Honda’s popular middleweight trio gets new colours and graphics for 2018
Local Honda bikes custodian Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd just announced that an updated 2018 version of the Honda CB500 middleweight series for 2018 will go on sale soon.
Comprised of the CB500F naked, CBR500R sport and CB500X adventure tourer, the trio was first introduced locally in 2013. All three were then face-lifted in 2016 with new full-LED headlights, enlarged fuel tanks, as well as adjustable forks (CB500F, CBR500R) and front brake lever (CBR500R).
Boon Siew had updated the trio earlier this year whereby all variants finally gained ABS options – only the CB500X had this option prior. Mechanically, the 2018 models still retain the same 471cc parallel-twin heart and six-speed gearbox pairing as before, offering 49.6hp and 44Nm to power its rear wheel.
New for 2018 however are the colour and graphics schemes. Starting with the CB500F naked, its options now include Force Silver Metallic, Candy Chromosphere Red and Candy Caribbean Blue Sea. The sportier CBR500R, on the other hand, now features Pearl Metalloid White, Grand Prix Red or Graphite Black options.
Last, but certainly not the least, the CB500X adventure-style tourer sees its colour range choices updated with Force Silver Metallic, Candy Chromosphere Red or Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic options. Here’s the full price breakdown for all three:
Note: Figures stated are base prices with GST excluding insurance and registration
As before, all prices includes a two-year or 20,000km warranty plan. All three models will be available for purchase through authorised dealers nationwide form January 2018 onwards.
