Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has issued a recall notice for the Yamaha Tracer 900 GT. The programme is set out to replace the sport-touring bike's 'Front Stop Switch Kit' with the following frame numbers of PMYRN6110K0000101 – 0000620 and PMYRN6110L0000621 – 0000900. (CLICK HERE for more info).

In the official notice, HLYM also stated that affected owners may 'continue to ride and maintain your motorcycle in accordance to the instructions stated in the owner’s manual', which indicates that the parts replacement is more of a precautionary initiative, rather than something that will affect the owner's safety while riding.

It's indeed a good move from Yamaha Motor Malaysia to start the replacement programme at the end of May 2021 once the owners have been individually notified regarding the matter. Once notified, owners may contact the near authorised dealer or branch to schedule an appointment, where all of it will be conducted by region in stages.

FOR PARTS REPLACEMENT PROGRAMME – MAY 2021

To all valued Tracer 900 GT owners and users,
Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn. Bhd. will be carrying out a programme to replace Front Stop Switch Kit for Yamaha Tracer 900 GT.  This activity will be conducted by region in stages.

Please take note that the affected units are per below.
