2021 Yamaha NVX with Y-Connect launched in Malaysia - From RM8,998

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has launched its latest 2021 Yamaha NVX offering and it's the first Yamaha motorcycle in the country to come with the Y-Connect feature which allows users to connect their smartphones and access added information about this 155cc scooter.

Owners of the 2021 Yamaha NNX who has installed the Y-Connect app on their phones are able to access information like engine oil and battery health checks, fuel consumption, fuel efficiency ranking on a global scale, and probably two of the most important features, service reminders as well as last parking location.

The usual features like calls and message notifications are notified to the rider via its new fully digital LCD instrument display that's also connected to the Y-Connect smartphone app. Sadly, there's no navigation available, but there is a 12V socket to charge your mobile devices when you're on the go.

Underneath all that lies a reworked 155cc single-cylinder SOHC liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) that produces 15.4PS at 8,000rpm and 13.9Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. In other words, it's slightly more powerful than the previous-gen model, and it looks sportier too.

Other highlighted features include a new LED lighting system, a bigger 5.5-litre fuel tank (previous-gen is 4.6 litres), enhanced front fairings with new side covers, and more. There are two variants on offer; Standard and ABS. The former is priced at RM8,998 while the latter comes in at RM10,998 (prices excluding insurance, road tax & registration).

The ABS version comes with front ABS, rear suspension with sub tank, Smart Key system, and exclusive colour options (Platinum SE and GP Blue). The standard version is available in Red and Cyan.
