Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace price drops thanks to new 'Life' variant - RM173k
The new entry-level variant is about RM8,000 cheaper than the Tiguan Allspace Elegance
Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) recently introduced a new entry-level variant of the Tiguan Allspace, called the Tiguan Allspace 1.4 TSI Life.
Priced at RM172,990 on the road without insurance, the Tiguan Allspace 1.4 TSI Life is RM7,600 cheaper than the Tiguan Allspace 1.4 TSI Elegance (RM180,590 on the road without insurance) which was the entry-level variant before this. Sitting right on top of the range is the Tiguan Allspace 2.0 TSI R-Line 4MOTION which is priced at RM226,073 on the road without insurance.
Coming back to the Tiguan Allspace Life, it is almost identical to the Tiguan Allspace Elegance, featuring the signature Volkswagen illuminated light strip between full LED headlamps, the ‘Allspace’ trims, silver-painted side mirrors, ‘Tiguan’ lettering on the rear, and 18” Frankfurt alloy wheels.
Both headlamps and taillights are fully powered by LED. For added safety in any climate conditions, the headlamps include an all-weather light system and dynamic cornering light for improved visibility. The taillight cluster with a distinctive lighting signature also puts on a dazzling show (Click-clack effect) when brakes are applied.
Inside, standard equipment available are the 9.2-inch Discover Pro infotainment system with wireless app connect, navigation system, and voice-control; 3-zone climatronic air cond, and a leather multifunction sports steering wheel. Boot space is rated at 1,775-litres with the second and third row seats down on the floor.
Since it is the entry-level variant, the Tiguan Allspace Life doesn't get leather seats, ambient lighting, the illuminated scuff plates, and the 12-way powered seats - all of which are standard in the more expensive Elegance.
The list of safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Brake Assist (BA), Multi-collision brakes, Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS), and Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). Lane Assist and Driver Alert systems are available as well.
