TGR Festival Season 3 And Toyota Supra Launch Announced
The Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival (TGR Festival) will return for its third season later this year. During the series’s launch party held this week, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd have revealed several key new plans and activities in store for Season 3.
According to UMW Toyota, the critical reception of the mass public from Season 2 has fuelled the firm’s efforts to press on for a new season. The firm also revealed that TGR Festival Season 2 successfully attracted over 80,000 fans attending each venue and a further 1.1 million online viewers.
As per the last two seasons, the Vios one-make race continues to serve as the mainstay event. But unlike before, Season 3’s spec race machine of choice will be based on the all-new generation Toyota Vios model introduced earlier this year.
Once again, three categories will be contested, those being the Sporting Class for amateur teams and drivers, the Super Sporting Class for professional drivers and outfits, not forgetting the Promotional Class headlined by local celebrities.

TGR Festival Season 3 Celebrities
Notably, the Promotional class welcomes two new celebrity racers. Local actor Syafiq Kyle and up-and-coming actress/presenter Ain Edruce enters this field to compete against Shukri Yahaya, Shawn Lee, presenter Nabil Ahmad, Khai Bahar, Nabila Razali, Wany Hasrita, Janna Nick and defending class champion Diana Danielle.
Like before again, the Vios Challenge will be contested over 8 races held across four specially built temporary street circuits. In other words, fans will likely see the close, door-to-door racing action as per the last two seasons across all categories.
Off the racing asphalt, TGR Festival Season 3 will still feature a carnival-like experience fuelled by displays and test-drives of UMW Toyota’s products. Complementing that is the inclusion of UMW Toyota’s ever-growing Velocity E-Sport challenges, plus other activities, entertainment and foods from other partners.
One new element at the TGR Festival for motorsports and car enthusiasts to look forward to is the Gazoo Racing Outlet. The garage-themed space will showcase a line-up of special models inspired and derived from Toyota’s motor-racing involvement, one of it being the Gazoo Racing Supra.
Yes, the A90 Toyota GR Supra will be on show for all during TGR Festival season 3, which then led to UMW Toyota’s also officially announcing said BMW Z4-based sports coupe’s local debut in September in conjunction with the festival.
In short, there’s more fun for all enthusiasts and the family abound when TGR Festival Season 3 kicks off.

At present, UMW Toyota have only confirmed the season opener’s location and dates, those being Terengganu’s state capital of Kuala Terengganu on September 6 and 7.
