RNF Racing signs Darryn Binder for MotoGP 2022
Apart from signing Binder, RNF Racing also announced its new MotoGP sponsor - WithU
Petronas Sprinta Racing Moto3 rider, Darryn Binder, will be the second-ever rider to jump from Moto3 straight to MotoGP after signing a new deal with Dato' Razlan's premier class squad, RNF MotoGP Racing. They also have a new main sponsor lined up, WithU (surprise, surprise) as well as Yamaha which will see them carrying the newly renamed WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team.
Darryn Binder will be riding alongside his new MotoGP teammate, Andrea Dovizioso starting 2022 onboard the Yamaha YZR-M1 machinery. So far, the deal is only for 2022, but Yamaha has stated that there's also an option to extend its partnership well into 2023 and 2024 considering that RNF Racing signed a five-year deal with Dorna to stay on the MotoGP grid until the end of 2026.
According to Dato' Razlan Razali, founder and team principal of RNF Racing Ltd, "We have today reached a historical milestone for the new RNF MotoGP Team. I would like to thank Yamaha for the trust and confidence given to me and the team for the upcoming season despite the changes that happened this year."
"The achievements that we have shared together in the first three years of our partnership with wins, podiums, pole positions, and awards have been memorable and motivates us towards greater heights. We have the experience from our past successes, supported by the same strong and passionate crew from our MotoGP garage, with a solid rider line-up, so we are set for a competitive comeback with Yamaha for the 2022 season," added Dato' Razlan.
