Vespa importers and distributors Naza Premira Sdn Bhd sees its line up updated today as it welcomes the new 2019 Vespa Sprint Carbon.

Those familiar with the famed Italian classic-styled scooter purveyors would already know that the Sprint is the sportier offshoot in the line, its most notable trait being its distinct square headlamp design.

The new Carbon edition launched locally today can be had in either Vulcano Black or White Innocenza colour schemes. The Vespa Sprint Carbon also dons a new front tie and speedometer cover with carbon texture, new red horn cover, new rim stickers, shield edge and lamp cover in grey finishing, while maintaining its chrome handlebar and mirrors.

Notably, unlike its past edition, the new Sprint Carbon also proudly wears the Italian ‘Tricolore’ flag decal on both sides of its body panel. Accompanying that is a new “Carbon” logo in the back shield. For those wondering, the Sprint Carbon also gets neat LED lighting all around as well.

Mechanically, things remain rather similar to what we’ve seen before. Power still comes from an air-cooled 149cc i-Get single-cylinder powerplant – good for 12.7hp and 12.8Nm – that’s mated with a twist-and-go CVT automatic box and belt drive. As for the chassis, it sports a single front disc brake that’s also brimmed with a single-channel ABS suite.

Fancy one? Well, as many Vespa fans would know, iconic style doesn’t come cheap, and the new Vespa Sprint Carbon is no exception. Naza Premira Sdn Bhd have set a base selling price of RM19,000 for one, marking a RM1,600 hike from the last version.
