Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica debuts in Malaysia - Here's all you need to know
The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica is essentially a less extreme version of the Huracan STO
Just a few weeks after launching the Huracan STO, Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur unveiled yet another new model in Malaysia - the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica.
The Huracan Tecnica essentially a slightly less extreme version of the STO which is powered by the same naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine as the latter, but it produces 630 hp and 565 Nm of torque, which is 30 hp and 5 Nm less than the STO.
All that power is sent to the rear wheels via the same 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission as the STO, but performance figures vary a little. While the Tecnica does the century sprint in 3.2 seconds, the STO does it in 3.0 seconds flat.
The Tecnica also gets rear-wheel-steering and torque vectoring, along with a modified version of Lambo’s traction control and three drive modes.
Spanning the regular ‘Strada’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Corsa’, the traction control, torque vectoring and rear-wheel-steering slowly loosen their respective grips to allow more ‘agility’ and ‘grip’. Also lots of oversteer, if that’s your thing.
The modes also facilitate better responses from that naturally-aspirated V10 and seven-speed gearbox, while there’s better brake cooling via new cooling deflectors and caliper ducts directing more air onto the carbon ceramic discs.
And then there’s the new front bumper that takes the wild Terzo Millennio’s Ypsilon design and includes an air curtain, ahead of a full carbon fibre bonnet. The splitter’s new too, with slats directing air through the wheels for downforce.
As such, it’s longer than a Huracan Evo by 6.1cm, with a silhouette mirroring the Essenza SCV12’s, topped off by a new rear window, redesigned V10 cover, a new rear bumper and a fixed rear wing.
All in, Lambo says the Tecnica offers 35 per cent more downforce compared to the EVO.
As for the interior, things are identical to the cabin of the Huracan EVO. Compared to the STO, the Tecnica gets more comfort and luxury as it is not obsessed with shedding weight like the STO.
Because of that, there is a very long list of personalisation options and colours available for customers to choose from, from the colour of the leather, the stitching, the seatbelts, and so on.
That being said, the Huracan Tecnica here sits above the Huracan EVO and below the Huracan STO in the product portfolio with an asking price of RM1.05 million before options and taxes.
