BMW EV sales more than doubled this year - 60,000 sold (so far)

BMW is having one heck of a year so far for its EV offerings

BMW Group recently announced that they've successfully delivered close to two million vehicles (1,932,236 units) all over the world for all the brands under its care (BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce). It's a significant increase of 17.9% compared to last year, and its EV sales figure is even more interesting (and certainly very profitable for them).

From January to September, BMW Group sold 231,576 electrified vehicles (EV and PHEV included) around the globe, which is an increase of 98.9% compared to the same period from last year. Out of that number, close to 60,000 (59,688 to be exact) are full EVs which translates to a whopping 121.4% increase when you put it side to side with last year's figures.

It seems that the BMW iX3 has been a huge hit in Europe where over 20,000 have been sold and registered since the start of 2021. Malaysia will soon do its fair share as the BMW Group Malaysia is ready to launch the BMW iX range in the near future. Bookings have already begun and interested parties can kick things off with the BMW iX configurator, so it won't be long now before the official launch.

These numbers will most likely get expanded even further as the BMW Group is already working on expanding its e-mobility offerings. These will include fully-electrified versions of the BMW 7 Series, 5 Series, X1, as well as the MINI Countryman's successor, and arguably the most exciting of them all, the Rolls-Royce Spectre (scheduled for 2023). These are indeed 'electrifying' times for BMW *badum tss*
