This, ladies and gentlemen of the web, is the brand new Lamborghini Huracan GT3 racer. We'll give you a moment.

Back with us? Good. Launched at Lamborghini HQ earlier today with smoke billowing from its wings like some kind of automotive Incredible Hulk, the new GT3 Huracan comes just five months after Lambo's crack 'Squadra Corse' racing team gave us the Super Trofeo version.

Looks amazing, doesn't it? It's been designed and built in conjunction with Dallara (as with the Super Trofeo Huracan), and features an aluminium-carbon body shell, complete with a fully integrated FIA-compliant roll cage. Lamborghini has also modified the front and rear subframes, too; the front to better accommodate a high performance radiator, and a better position for the gearbox at the rear to improve aero.

Your eyes will naturally be drawn to the monster bodywork. Among the reworked aero and fast-fit panels, you'll find an adjustable front diffuser, extra louvres, and an adjustable rear wing. The better aero also helps cool the brakes more efficiently, while also managing to look really bloody evil. The whole thing weighs in at 1239kg, with weight distribution trumpeted as 42:58 front to rear.

Underneath is the same 5.2-litre V10 engine as in the road car, with a Bosch ECU managing the traction control, gearbox and TFT dashboard display. It's got race-spec wiring throughout, a six-speed gearbox, three-disc racing clutch, and of course, rear-wheel-drive. No word on power output, but the Super Trofeo pumps out around 611bhp.

There's a better gearbox and engine oil cooler, a carbon seat, OMP fire extinguisher, a roof hatch - should medical personnel need quick access to the cockpit - adjustable pedals and a multifunction steering wheel.

Oh, and those brakes, by the way, measure up at 380mm at the front with six-pot calipers, and 355mm at the rear with four-pots, together with a Bosch ABS system. There are 12 settings for this, and the traction control, too.

Excited? It'll be campaigned in the 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series, which takes in things like Monza, and the Spa 24hrs. The Grasser Racing Team will field two Huracan GT3s, ably assisted by official Squadra Corse test drivers Babini and Zaugg, along with help from Lamborghini's Young Driver's Programme.

"With the Huracan GT3," explains Lambo chief Stephan Winkelmann, "Lamborghini Squadra Corse takes a further step forward in the development and production of a race car for this category, which is among the most prestigious and challenging in international motorsport."

If you fancy purchasing one yourself, Lamborghini will be more than happy to sell you one... for the price of €369,000, excluding taxes and works.
