Lamborghini's 2021 production capacity is almost sold out?

By sep, 14 June 2021

What happens when people have money, but can't spend it on luxurious holidays and travels? Well, a lot of other things. It seems that a good number of them have opted to get new Lamborghinis, which is why its CEO has stated that their entire production capacity for 2021 is almost sold out.

Whatever they'll manufacturer from now until the end of November has been bought and spoken for, if you ask Lamborghini's CEO, Stephan Winkelmann. It's only June, but the upcoming production models amounting to around 3,100 units already have buyers waiting for their deliveries around the world. If you want one this year, better be quick about it because they only have one month of production time left before they close the books for 2021.

Some say that this trend is a form of 'revenge spending' from the rich due to COVID-19 and all the quarantines as well as travel restrictions placed around the world to combat the virus. With some places opening up and almost returning to normal (Malaysia not included), Lamborghini has already delivered 25% of its production volume within the first quarter of 2021.

To add up to that, 2020 was regarded as the second-best year ever in terms of sales for Lamborghini, despite going through a two-month shutdown in Italy. Nevertheless, they managed to sell 7,430 cars last year, which was only 9% down compared to 2019 before COVID-19 went global. Urus is by far the most popular model this year, followed by the Huracán, and the Aventador.
