2022 Mazda CX-3 launched - New 1.5L and 2.0L variants, from RM108k
Buyers now have more options to choose from
Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia has updated the Mazda CX-3 compact SUV for 2022 with two new variants - the CX-3 Skyactiv-G 1.5L 2WD Core and CX-3 Skyactiv-G 2.0L 2WD Core.
Priced at RM 107,870 and RM118,159 respectively, the CX-3 1.5L Core and 2.0L Core variants will be joining the existing CX-3 2.0L High variant which is priced at RM131,159.
Powering the new CX-3 1.5L Core is the same naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine as the Mazda2, producing 114 hp at 6,000 rpm and 149 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Paired to the engine is the Skyactiv 6-speed automatic gearbox with Manual Shift Mode.
As for the 2.0L Core variant, power comes from the Skyactiv-G 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 154 hp at 6,000 rpm and 206 Nm at 2,800 rpm, which is the same as the 2.0L High variant. Similar to the 1.5L Core variant, the 2.0L versions also get the 6-speed automatic gearbox sith Manual Shift mode.
On the exterior, the CX-3 1.5 Core and CX-3 2.0L Core variants are identical, equipped with halogen headlights with manual leveling, bulb DRLs, keyless entry, 16-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, as well as a chromed radiator grille.
Only the 2.0L High variant gets all the additional goodies like full LED headlights with auto levelling, LED DRLs, LED combination taillights, LED reverse lights, automatic wipers, as well as 18-inch tyres and wheels.
Inside, all three variants get the Engine Start/Stop button, electronic parking brake, steering-mounted audio controls, leather steering wheel, Tilt & Telescopic steering wheel adjustment, a 12-Volt power outlet in front, interior lighting, as well as cruise control.
On top of these features, the 2.0L High variant gets an auto-dimming rear view mirror, automatic air conditioning, front and rear parking sensors, a Heads-Up Display, and Paddle Shifters.
As for the seats, the 1.5L Core and 2.0L Core variants get fabric upholstery, while the range-topping 2.0L High variant gets leatherette seats with 10-way power adjustment.
All three variants come with an infotainment system that comprises an 8-inch touch-screen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, but only the 2.0L High variant gets Wireless CarPlay, wireless charging, and a 360-degree view monitor.
Also standard across the range are six speakers, Bluetooth function, two USB ports, Start/Stop idling technology, as well as G-Vectoring technology.
Where safety is concerned, the 1.5L Core and 2.0L Core variants get two airbags while the 2.0L High gets six. Similar across the range is ABS, EBD, DSC, Traction Control, ESS, and Hill Launch Assist.
The 2.0L High variant on the other hand, gets Mazda's Advanced Safety Technologies like High Beam Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Alert, and Smert City Brake Support.
