Is this a preview of Bell & Ross’s next F1 special?
Launched not too long ago, the new Bell & Ross BR 05 Chrono timepiece is a novelty that many of the French watchmaking house’s fans can truly appreciate.
It’s safe to say that the newly added chronograph function to the brand’s ‘modern classic’ has bolstered its appeal even further. And apart from the Black Steel variation mentioned, there’s also a Blue Steel variation featured here to marvel at.
Aptly, this is the same BR 05 Chrono timepiece that’s been given a blue twist. Notably, based on the watchmaking maison’s relationship with a certain French Formula 1 factory racing squad, this may have just given us a glimpse of its next F1 special.
To refresh your memory, Bell & Ross’s partnership with the Renault DP World F1 Team led to the birth of the BR V3-94 R.S.19 limited-run special we’ve featured prior. Said timepiece comes finished in a distinct black and yellow colourway that mirrors the team’s current livery.
However, Renault’s recent effort to rebrand the team using its Alpine sports car sub brand for the 2021 season onwards will indeed spawn a new livery, likely one that features said sub brand’s signature blue hue.
With that in mind, it’s not wrong to think that the successor of the BR V3-94 R.S.19 special will also mirror said new Alpine livery, and the BR 03 Chrono Blue Steel featured here perhaps gives us an early glimpse of which.
Can’t wait for that new special to beckon? Fret not as the BR 03 Chrono Blue Steel is readily available now alongside the Black Steel version. Like the latter, the Blue Steel offshoot is also available in both steel bracelet and rubber strap forms, priced at RM28,500 and RM26,000 respectively.
