Another Renault Special - BR V3-94 R.S.19
Remember the RM808k Bell & Ross watch we wrote about earlier? If you’re enjoying the Renault F1 Team’s resurgence as much as we do and want a matching timepiece to go with the Honey Badger’s newfound bravado, the good news is you don’t actually have to spend that much.
The collaboration between Bell & Ross and Renault F1 has spawned a unique collection which also consists of a couple of more down-to-earth chronographs. And propping the range up is the BR V3-94 R.S.19, which costs RM19,000 with a calfskin strap – RM1,400 more if you prefer a steel bracelet instead (pictured below, right).
Unlike the square-bodied timepieces that have become synonymous with the B&R logo these days, the BR V3-94 R.S.19 sports a classically circular 43mm case. Obviously, there is no fancy tourbillon engineering within this case, but you still get:
“the high-precision stopwatch functionality of their chronograph mechanics, which can record events to an accuracy of an eighth of a second, over the course of 30 minutes”
Visually, the carbon dials (of course they had to be carbon!) are colour-coded to match the steering wheels of the Renault R.S.19. That’s as close as most of us will get to being in Daniel Ricciardo or Nico Hulkenberg’s hot seat. Only not a lot of us will enjoy this privilege, as Bell & Ross is only producing 999 pieces in total. It’s not as limited as the 20-unit run for the BR-X1 Tourbillon, but 999 watches is still not a lot to go around the world with.
Buy away, F1-loving collectors.
