Other car companies in Malaysia has yet to join the bandwagon, but that’s all fine for Volkswagen Passenger Car Malaysia (VPCM) which has introduced yet another model available only online. The special edition Volkswagen Polo Black & White can only be bought at Lazada in conjunction with the portal’s annual 11.11 Shopping Festival celebration.
As the name suggests, the Polo Black & White will be available on 11 November on Lazada.
The cars are all in Candy White colour and fitted with black rear spoiler, black side moldings, leather seats, 15 inch alloy wheels in black, side mirror in black housing and authorised tint. The special edition Polo also gets a new RCD 340G head unit which offers a wide range of connectivity options such as USB and iPod interface, AUX-IN support, SD card slot, Bluetooth and App-Connect (CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirrorlink).
All the accessories are valued at RM7,500 and that’s all part of the Polo Black & White’s selling price of RM68,488. A booking fee of RM799 is required which can be made via Lazada wallet, credit card, or online banking. The customer will then get a phone call from a Volkswagen representative to inquire details such as the buyers preferred dealership for vehicle delivery.
You’ll have to hurry because only 11 are available, and past trends show that VPCM usually manage to sell them all fairly quickly. On top of that official bank partner, Hong Leong Bank, is also offering a special low interest rate of 1.11 per cent per annum for a 5-year loan.
Underneath the Polo’s hood is still the same 1.6-litre MPI engine that makes 105ps/153Nm which then goes to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Erik Winter, managing director of VPCM said that “A consumer’s purchasing journey have evolved so much in the past recent years, and we are pleased to have played a part in changing perceptions to the point where purchasing a car is now the new norm. This is evident with the success with our collaborations with Lazada for the 12.12. Beetle and the recent JOIN range (see below). Convenience aside, this also tells us that consumers are online – reading, researching and looking for the best deals. And that is where Volkswagen will be.”
