Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) have teamed up with e-commerce powerhouse Lazada for the latter’s Online Revolution Campaign, which runs from 12 to 14 December.
For this occasion, VPCM will offer a limited edition version of the Volkswagen Beetle for sale exclusively through Lazada during the campaign. This also marks the first time a car manufacturer and an e-commerce company have teamed up to sell cars online in such a manner locally.
The Volkswagen Bettle “12.12” Limited Edition that will be offered exclusively during this campaign is based off the existing VW Beetle 1.2 TSI model. It can be had in two design trims starting with the “Herbie 53” trim that’s finished in Pure White and White Silver colours, followed by the “Hot Bug” trim that’s finished in Tornado Red.
On board, these special edition Beetles boasts a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, a 5.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with USB + Bluetooth connectivity and an 8-speaker setup; as well as seats covered in ‘Pepita’ fabric. No changes to the powertrain, meaning this 1.2-litre TSI four-cylinder plus 7-speed DSG package still offers 105ps and 175Nm powering the front wheels.
