UMW Toyota Motor Sd. Bhd. (UMWT) has been quiet for a while, except for the fair amount of fizz from the upcoming Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Challenge one make race starting next month. For that, they have introduced a special version Toyota Vios Sports Edition.

It comes with an aerokit with trunk spoiler and black-painted alloy wheels. There are also striking stripes around the bodywork.

But the real meat comes from the sports suspension which lowers the Vios’ centre of gravity by up to 27mm. In effect, handling is improved with less bodyroll during cornering.

Inside, you will spot sports racing seats, carpet mats with Sports edition emblem, and sportier gear knob. The scuff plate is illuminated in amber colour, as it is at the footwells, although we can all agree that that is a quite unconvincing performance component.

The engine bay is… untouched, unfortunately. We’re guessing that it’s the best way to keep the price down, which is at RM85,300 (without insurance). Purchase comes with a 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage. Every purchase also gives you a complimentary Sports Edition merchandise that includes a TGR polo shirt customised with the buyer’s name, cap, and tumbler.
