Toddlers don’t care, but here’s the McLaren push car

‘Start em’ young’ they say, but perhaps that should not be taken literally. At least that’s our first thought when learning McLaren has come out with the 570S Step2 Push Sports Car.

Obviously, this is inspired from the McLaren 570S – minus the engine of course. And the, brakes, audio, exhaust and… you get the idea. The press release says that car is ‘providing practical support for modern living by allowing parents to carry out their daily tasks or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll in the park without needing a conventional stroller.’ Yeah, that too. We think.

There’s a storage area under the seat plus multiple cup holders. Okay, that’s back to being a regular stroller. We were hoping that it’s made from carbon fibre, but apparently not.

The push car is built in cooperation with The Step2 Company, a major American toy manufacturer. It’s claimed that the Whisper Wheels™ give the car a smooth ride (test drive, anyone?), the flat-bottomed steering wheel gives feedback, and electronic sounds provide a suitable experience for the child.

It only comes in Ventura Orange and sold exclusively through Amazon.com (US) in September. Later on the McLaren 570S Push Sports Car will also be available from leading global retailers with a RRP of $79.99 (RM344).
