This glow in the dark Corvette C7.R racer is amazing

Larbre Competition is gunning for Aston Martin. Last weekend, the privateer team tested its 2017 Corvette C7.R racer, and ended up setting the second fastest time in the LMGTE-Am category. A time just 0.052secs behind the #98 Aston Martin, currently leading the FIA WEC standings.

In fact, just three-tenths covered off the main contenders of Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche and Corvette, meaning this year’s LMGTE-Am – as ever – will be an absolute slugfest.

But right here, right now, none of that is important. Because though the Corvette was only second quickest in its class during testing, it’s currently miles ahead in the style stakes. The main talking point of the test was the simply outrageous – and outrageously cool – livery the C7.R is sporting. LOOK AT IT.

It’s DayGlo. Which means come night time at Le Mans, it’ll glow in the dark. Just take a moment to digest this sentence: a V8-powered, racing Corvette with a glow-in-the-dark livery.

It was designed by an artist called Ramzi Adek, and is simply dubbed ‘Human’. The livery, not Ramzi. He’s a human too, though.

“I could see that my fellow team managers were both surprised and pleased by the end result,” Larbre team manager Jack Leconte said of the livery. “Early feedback from the fans was very positive as well, so we can’t wait to see the reception we’ll get on Le Mans week.”
