Only 5,000 units are available for this limited edition Yamaha Y16ZR

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has launched its latest 2022 Yamaha Y16ZR World GP 60th Anniversary Edition model. Only 5,000 units will be produced to celebrate the brand's 60 years of involvement in motorsports, which is why it carries that signature-looking paint scheme.

Those who know Yamaha and its motorsports history should instantly recognise this Yamaha Y16ZR's iconic white/red colour combo. To further hype that look, the limited edition model also comes with a set of gold-coloured sport rims plus a 60th Anniversary emblem as icing on the cake.

According to Dato’ Dr Jim Khor, Group Managing Director of Hong Leong Industries Berhad, "The new World GP 60th Anniversary edition of the Yamaha Y16ZR is a limited edition model to commemorate our 60 years of racing excellence in the World GP. We hope we are able to give our customers the opportunity to celebrate our long history of racing excellence and a sense of privilege by owning the premium gift set that comes along with it"

When it comes to the world of cubs and mopeds, it's hard to deny the Y16ZR's performance package which includes a 155cc single-cylinder SOHC engine that produces 17.7hp and 14.4Nm of torque. It's also the only bike in its category to come with an assist and slipper clutch to help smooth things out when shifting gears.
