Would you spec your McLaren in this ‘Comet Fade’ paint?

How on earth are you meant to choose which colour to order your 600LT in when McLaren’s Special Operations division offers almost limitless customisation options? It’s a hard life for some.

One valued customer of McLaren Toronto was able to make their decision, though, and they’ve just taken delivery of the hardcore coupe in this stunning ‘Comet Fade’ bespoke colour scheme. What do you reckon, Internet?

McLaren says that three MSO bespoke colours were combined to create the icy fade – Cerulean Blue, Defined Burton Blue and Atlantic Blue – and the whole painting process apparently took MSO technicians 120 hours to complete. Crikey.

That wasn’t all the Special Ops division were asked to do, though. The client, whomever they may be, also specced almost every possible option on the hardtop Longtail. Presumably they’re fans of weight-saving, because three different exterior carbon fibre upgrade packs were selected alongside an MSO Bespoke bare carbon fibre roof scoop. The ultra-lightweight forged wheels and carbon ceramic brake boxes were also ticked.

There’s plenty of carbon inside too, the MSO Clubsport Pack for example features lightweight carbon racing seats. Plus, the customer also gets a bit more of that Cerulean Blue indoors.

We don’t know how much all of this bespoke-ness cost – but we’d wager it was well above the 600LT’s £185,500 (approx. RM998,611) base price…
