You know when a slightly older person designed a concept vehicle to appeal to rather young people when it uses more than one ‘Z’ in the name. So here we present to you the teaser images of the ID.ROOMZZ. Yes, with two Zs!

It will have its world premiere during Auto Shanghai from 16 April to 24 April, and described as being a multi-variable all-round model and the next member of the ID family. Essentially, it’s a zero-emission vehicle; the image clearly shows it being an SUV too and according to VW it will be introduced into the Chinese market in 2021.

And just like other recently-unveiled EVs from Volkswagen namely the ID., ID. Crozz, ID. Buzz, ID. Vizzion, and the ID. Buggy (no, not Buggyzz), the ID. Roomzz will be based on the modular electric drive matrix (MEB).

“The I.D. Roomzz shows us what we can expect from full-size electric SUVs in the future. The puristic look emphasizes the clear function and the user experience is intuitive and natural,” says Klaus Bischoff, chief designer at the Volkswagen brand.

The concept will come with the IQ. DRIVE system as well as ID. Pilot mode which is VW-talk for SAE Level 4 autonomous driving technology. You can also expect the ID. Roomzz to have completely new seat configurations, high-quality materials, and customisable lights.
