VW introduces home delivery service for new car purchases

Coming from a brand that already lets you browse and book a new car online through its eShowroom initiative, perhaps this new effort from Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) is somewhat expected.

Earlier today, VPCM announced a new direct-to-home delivery service option for buyers who’ve purchased a brand new Volkswagen. This new optional service was born out of the pandemic-driven ‘new norm’ we are currently living in according to the firm.

This optional home delivery service is now available through all authorised VW dealerships nationwide. Notably, this option comes at no cost – FREE – for buyers located within a 20km radius from their selected VW dealership.

Regarding the delivery procedure itself, VPCM explained that each delivery run employs a single flatbed carrier truck transporting the new car that’s also fully covered in canvas to ensure its pristine condition upon arrival. Owners will be notified via SMS once their new car is collected and about to start its journey to their home driveways from the dealership.

Furthermore, said flatbed carrier truck will also be regularly cleaned and disinfected before and after each delivery run, while its drivers are screened regularly whilst also strict prevention measures against Covid-19.

For added peace of mind, there's also the Volkswagen Deep Sanitisation service package to consider. The treatment package, which starts as low as RM80, works to eradicate more than 99% of germs and bacteria in the car interior and air con system.

In short, that brand new VW you looked up and paid for online without even test-driving can now be delivered directly you your driveway too, just like every other thing you buy online these days.
