The Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric also happens to be a CKD model

Volvo Car Malaysia has officially announced the price for its first EV model in the country, the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric. For those who are interested to jump on the Swedish EV bandwagon, the fully electric XC40 can be yours for RM262,459.75.

That figure is the distributor's 'hassle-free price' which includes a charging cable, service package, five years vehicle warranty, eight years battery warranty, and five years roadside assistance. In other words, insurance and road tax are not yet included in that figure.

According to Charles Frump, Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia, "We are delighted to launch our first pure EV in Malaysia. The launch lays the foundation for us to become the leading electric luxury car brand in the country. To support this, we are committed to launching a new electric vehicle every year for the next 5 years. In addition, we have the capabilities to assemble our own pure EVs for the local and other ASEAN markets."

The 2022 Volvo CX40 Recharge Pure Electric is available in five different colour options - Black Stone, Crystal White Pearl, Denim Blue, Glacier Silver and Sage Green. Orders can be placed online and the first deliveries are expected to begin at the end of April 2022.
