Volvo Car Malaysia extends factory coverage to five years

By daryl, 04 February 2021

Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has revised its warranty program to a five-year, unlimited-mileage factory coverage for all privately owned cars registered in Malaysia from 1 January 2021.

Prior to 2021, the five-year warranty offered by VCM was made up of a three-year factory warranty capped at 100,000km and a two-year/20,000km extension provided by an external insurance partner. The improved coverage is offered at no additional cost to would-be Volvo owners.

This announcement comes after VCM confirmed that customers of its PHEV models are entitled to an extended high-voltage battery warranty of up to eight years or 160,000km, whichever comes first.

The added assurances are certainly welcomed, but they also remind us to educate ourselves about the terms of our vehicle warranties; do you truly know which party is liable to claims in your first few years of ownership?
