VIDEO: Tun Mahathir and Anthony Loke talk about road safety

Rather than giving those familiar safety advisories on TV with stiff language and presentation, the Road Safety Department (JKJR) a few days ago released this brief under four-minute video about road safety. The real gems are the people on-screen – transport minister Anthony Loke and main man, Tun Mahathir.

Anthony had first revealed about this video after launching ‘Ops Bersepadu’ in conjunction with Hari Raya, where he revealed that the video was done mainly because of financial restrictions. With a budget of just RM1 million for safety advocacy – a far cry from a few years ago when Anthony said there was up to RM50 million – there is difficulty in reminding road users about safety.

Since using regular celebrities was out of the question, Anthony turned to the biggest celebrity in the country right now, the prime minister himself.

Tun was at his typical casual self, including talking about how old people shouldn’t really drive, even if he does it himself during weekends (however, with a driver on the passenger side).
