Vespa Primavera 50th Anniversary Edition now in Malaysia

In case you weren’t aware, an Italian scooter stalwart Vespa is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic Primavera model throughout 2018. On that note, the Piaggio-owned brand has made a limited edition anniversary special to commemorate the affair.

Making its local debut last weekend, just 52 units of the Vespa Primavera 50th Anniversary Edition has been allocated for the Malaysian market. According to importers and distributors Naza Premira Sdn Bhd, these specials are being snapped up fast too.

Based off the updated-for-2018 Primavera that was launched locally during Sneakerlah 2018 just a few months prior, the Primavera 50th Anniversary Edition comes dressed in an exclusive classic colour scheme that pays homage to the original 1968 model.

The special hue of Light Blue and Brown (matte finish) is complemented with a white leather seat saddle, and a set of sleek grey-finished five-spoke alloy wheels measuring 12-inches – just like the base model, and the biggest-sized wheels ever fielded by Vespa.

Beyond these visual treats, the 50th Anniversary Edition and regular Primavera don’t differ much. Notable highlights include the adoption of Vespa’s new generation i-Get 150cc four-stroke mill, LED headlights, not forgetting the presence of ABS brakes, as well as a USB charging port in the glove compartment.

While the base Primavera retails from RM15,600 onwards (base price), you’ll need to pony up an additional RM700 for the 50th Anniversary Edition, which commands a RM16,300 starting price instead. And these figures are before factoring in on-road costs and any of the tasty accessories Vespa has on offer too.
