Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival Season 4 kicks off on 27 March 2021
The Malaysian motorsports scene is slowly but surely picking things up during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period to curb COVID-19. At the end of March, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival (Season 4) returns after a year of absence and they promise to deliver some good ol’ fashion racing at the Sepang International Circuit.
Four classes of the Vios Challenge will see rookies, amateurs, pro drivers, and celebrities take part in wheel-to-wheel racing which will be streamed live online for fans to tune into in the comforts of their homes. There’s no doubt that there will some high-quality motorsports action to be delivered, and it’ll be just as exciting to see what some Malaysian celebrities are capable of at the hands of some seriously race-prepped Toyota Vios.
According to UMW Toyota Deputy Chairman and Toyota Gazoo Racing Malaysia’s Chief Motorsport Officer, Akio Takeyama, “It’s exciting to be back racing, but as much as we would like to immediately open our doors to race fans for them to be on site, the threat of the pandemic has offered up a new and perhaps an even more promising way of enabling millions of race fans to catch the action on and off the track during the race weekend via live streaming and in the comfort and safety of their homes.”
Non-motorsports fans can also get in on the action as some of Malaysia’s celebrities will be taking part in the Promotional Class. You’ll see some familiar faces returning to the Vios Challenge like Janna Nick, Nabil Ahmad, Wany Hasrita, Nabila Razali, and Khai Bahar. Three new additions will join this energetic group, which are Zizan Razak, Talitha Tan, and Ahirene Ahirudin.
