This Vauxhall Corsa-e Anniversary Edition is inspired by the Nova

Vauxhall is celebrating 40 years of making superminis, dating back to the original Nova way back in 1982. So like night follows day, here is a limited-edition, Eighties-inspired Corsa-e Anniversary Edition.

Which bits hark back to the Nova, exactly? Well the Record Red paint is meant to be reminiscent of the first Nova’s Carmine Red, as are the tartan sports seats. And, er, that’s about it.

Not that Vauxhall has stopped there with the retrim though. Based on its GS Line spec, you also get 17in black wheels, a black grille, badging, door mirrors and a two-tone roof for good measure.

Inside there’s a seven-inch colour touchscreen with sat nav, DAB radio and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Meanwhile the instrument cluster is also a seven-incher, and a blind spot alert system, power folding mirrors, front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera are thrown in for good measure.

There’s an ‘interior number plate’ denoting the car’s place in the run of 1,000 that are earmarked for the UK, and, drumroll please… a presentation box containing four pairs of Nova inspired socks! Available in small and large sizes, we’re yet to see the designs ourselves. But matching socks is definitely a thing more special edition cars should have.

And if the socks don’t keep you warm, the heated seats and steering wheel definitely will.

The electric powertrain is standard Corsa-e: 222 km of range from a 50kWh battery, and 100kW good for an 80 per cent charge in half an hour. The 134bhp motor is good for 0-100kph in 8.1secs.

Orders are being taken online only, and the Anniversary Edition is priced at £31,000 (RM167k) more than the standard GS Line. Tempted?
