Presenting the Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge Landspeed Collection

What you're looking at is the one and only Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge Landspeed Collection model here in Malaysia. There are only 35 units available in the world, and the only one here in the country is even more special as it's the final Wraith to enter the market. No more after this.

There are three things that you should know about this Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge Landspeed Collection model. It pays tribute to three significant inspirations from the 1930s - Captain George Eyston, his land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats, and his car called the Thunderbolt.

The Thunderbolt was powered by two Rolls-Royce R V12 aero engines which have a combined capacity of 76 litres and 5,000hp. Together, Captain Eyston and the Thunderbolt set a number of land speed records in 1935, 1937, and 1938 at the Bonneville Salt Flats with a recorded top speed of over 575km/h.

All of these details are represented in stunning detail on the one and only Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge Landspeed Collection here in Malaysia. The Rolls-Royce Landspeed Collection comes with a two-tone finish - a combination of Black Diamond Metallic and a new bespoke colour called Bonneville Blue.

It is said that this colour transitions from light blue to silver when the sunlight reflected on the Thunderbolt's aluminium body to illustrate the sights of the blue skies and salt flats in Bonneville. Yellow highlights on the front bumper and 21-inch wheels also drew inspiration from the Thunderbolt's design elements to help record its speed runs in the 1930s.

The Arctic White and Black colour combo in the cabin also carries a lot of inspiration from Captain Eyston's record-breaking feats. The more you explore the car, the more great details you'll find in relation to Captain Eyston, the Thunderbolt, and the Bonneville Salt Flats.

As part of the Landspeed Collection Package, this Wraith Black Badge comes with some very interesting design elements like

  • Bonneville Salt Flats fissures in the wood veneer of the dashboard
  • Starlight Headliner with 2,117 fibre optic 'stars' that recreates the night sky of the Bonneville Salt Flats when Eyston achieved his final land speed record in 1938
  • Landspeed Collection Clock engraved with Eyston's top speed record
  • Ribbon Flag inserts on the driver side door to represent three honours awarded to Captain Eyston (including an OBE)

Its 6.6-litre V12 engine produces 624hp and 870Nm of torque. Paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, it's able to hit 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds despite weighing in at 2.4 tonnes. Despite all that, a Rolls-Royce is never about performance. It's about luxury, style, comfort, and having something that's truly unique with an amazing backstory

As reported before, all 35 units of the Wraith and 25 units of the Dawn Landspeed Collection are spoken for, including this one here in Malaysia. In other words, you can't buy one even if you have the money. Because the Wraith chapter has been permanently closed and they're just completing the final orders before their major shift into EV.
