This Ford GT owned by its designer is up for sale

Must be nice seeing a car you’ve designed come to life. Especially when it’s, oh, you know, a manufacturer’s flagship model. Only natural you’d want to own one, too, right?

Take Moray Callum, designer of the second-gen Ford GT, for example, who lived that dream. Now, his actual car is up for sale. Meaning you have the opportunity to own the car that was once owned by the man who designed it. Which is the next best thing.

A quick recap. The ‘new’ Ford GT launched in 2016 with just 1,350 examples planned, which quickly sold out. However, Ford also included a two-year no-sale clause, meaning those looking to get their hands on a second-hand model were in for a lengthy wait.

Moray Callum’s particular car is from 2017, meaning it’s now eligible for re-sale. Specced in Liquid Red Metallic with a contrasting Re-Entry interior package and a white leather dash and seats, it’s done just 204 miles (328km) since, meaning it’s virtually brand new.

Under the bonnet is a 3.5-litre twin turbo V6 with 647bhp and 750Nm of torque, capable of 0–60mph in 3.0 seconds on to a top speed of 216mph (348kph). The same engine that powered the car to success at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans, 50 years after the first-gen model.

Price is undisclosed, but don’t expect this stunning example to come cheap.

What do we think, readers?
