The Hyundai i20 N Line hints at the i20N hot hatch

Crikey, Hyundais look quite punchy now, huh? This is the new Hyundai i20 N Line, and while it gives us a good idea of what to expect from the raucous, Fiesta ST-baiting i20N hot hatch, it operates a rung below in terms of performance.

So beneath the skin is the option of 1.0-litre turbo and 1.2-litre engines, offering between 83 and 118bhp, with 48v mild-hybrid technology available at the top end of the range. We’ll likely only get the punchiest 118bhp hybrid in the UK. There’s little mention of chassis tweaks, so we suspect it won’t be anywhere near as boisterous as the i20N to drive.

The styling is the big talking point, though, from its chequered flag-like grille at the front to its triangular fog light and twin exhausts at the back. Go for ‘Polar White’ and you also get the option of a black roof, the striking two-tone colour scheme you see here. Inside, you get N seats and plenty of red stitching and detailing.

Like what you see? Does it whet your appetite more for the i20N?
