Hyundai previews Casper compact SUV, two 1.0-litre powertrains to be offered

This dinky little hatchback-crossover thing is the Hyundai Casper. And no, it wasn't inspired by a certain friendly ghost. Not directly at least. Hyundai cites the Casper skateboarding technique as the source of its new car's name. But you can easily spot some movie influences from this microsite which teases the car in Korean. 

What we can gather from now is that it'll be offered with a pair of 1.0-litre engines. There'll be an MPI base model while the higher-end version will get a turbocharged mill with direct injection. It is slated to go on sale in Korea sometime later this month. 

Based on its size and engines, the Casper seems primed for the Indian market, where ultra-compact SUVs are incredibly popular. Reckon there'll be demand for it in Malaysia?
