The Citroen C3 Aircross is very angry about its facelift

By topgear, 15 February 2021

The original Citroen C3 Aircross arrived back in 2017 with a friendly face and a focus on maximum comfort. With its most recent facelift, though, Citroen says the baby crossover has “reached maturity” and that its restyled front end gives it “a more assertive personality”.

Is that really what we wanted? We’re not sure the new C4-style face works that well here. Oh, and there’s even a mention of “precise handling and agility” in the press release. Slightly worrying…

Thankfully, Citroen still seems to prefer comfort levels to cornering. Part of this facelift includes the introduction of the larger C5 Aircross’s Advanced Comfort seats. They certainly look inviting, and there’s an extra 15mm of foam compared to the old C3 chairs.

There’s still plenty of funky customisation options too. There are 70 possible combinations for exterior colours and trim; with seven body colour options, four different ‘colour packs’ and three further roof colours. C3 Aircross Harlequin, anyone? There are also new wheel designs in 16- and 17-inch flavours.

Of course, this is a 2021 facelift, so there’s been a fair focus on interior tech too. That infotainment screen is now a larger nine-inch unit, and there’s a head-up display, a reversing camera and five different connectivity technologies.

There’s a new super-spacious centre console on the inside too, as well as three different ‘ambiences’ that provide different interior colours and materials. The optional Grip Control system remains, and there’ll be a range of petrol and diesel powertrains with both manual and auto gearboxes.

What do we think, Internet?
