The 2022 Honda NT1100 has a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
The 2022 Honda NT1100 is the brand's latest long-distance adventure-tourer
What happens when Honda transforms its Africa Twin adventure bike into a touring machine? Well, you would get this - the 2022 Honda NT1100. Designed for long-distance travel and comfort, the new NT1100 is designed to tackle everyday riding situations like a boss and cover great distances with little to no issues. The design, however, might need some getting used to.
As stated above, the NT1100 basically uses the same engine and frame as the CRF1100L Africa Twin model, with a little bit of sportiness thrown into the mix. The semi-double cradle frame is fitted with a 1,084cc SOHC parallel twin-cylinder engine that produces around 100hp and 104Nm of torque and is tuned for 'super-smooth acceleration and a pleasing low-rpm sound'.
This sleek-looking tourer with those fancy LEDs and DRLs sends down the power from the engine to the rear tyre via a six-speed manual gearbox, but the Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) is available as an option. Other specs include 43mm Showa cartridge-type inverted front forks, preload-adjustable rear shock, front dual 310mm disc brakes with 4-piston radial-mount calipers, 20-litre fuel tank, and a set of 17-inch wheels.
Perhaps its most redeeming quality is the electronics. On the NT1100, you'll find a 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen that comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity to tether up to your smartphone. There's also the three-level Honda Selectable Torque Control, riding modes, Wheelie Control, self-cancelling indicators, Emergency Stop Signals (ESS), 5-stage wind deflectors, and more.
This orca-looking 2022 Honda NT1100 will be made available in three different colour options - Matte Iridium Grey Metallic, Pearl Glare White, and Graphite Black. Will it make its way into the Malaysian market? We'll just have to wait and find out from Boon Siew Honda in the future. Is it a yay or nay for you?
