Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) has launched the updated Porsche Panamera for the year 2021. Its official debut was made last night online via Porsche Malaysia's social media platforms with a price tag starting from RM1,026,735 with SST exemption.

The 2021 Porsche Panamera comes with an enhanced design to further accentuate the vehicle's fine balance between sports car performance and ride comfort. Fans will notice its Sport Design front end with striking air intake grilles, side air intake, and the adapted single-bar front light layout (which used to be an option from the previous model, but now come as standard).

There's also the revamped rear light strip that follows the contour of the Panamera to form a connection between the two new LED tailight clusters. All of these are complemented with a new set of 20 and 21-inch wheels plus softer compound sport tyres for added comfort as well as sportiness. There are over 10 different designs for customers to choose from to suit their taste.

The interior of the new Panamera still carries that timeless yet sporty vibe which features high-grade materials, and also a new multifunction steering wheel that Porsche says can 'evoke the lightweight steering wheels found in racing cars.' Also, there's the Porsche Connect, a first for the Panamera model here in Malaysia.

Featuring a 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine, the 2021 Panamera is able to produce 325hp (330PS) and 450Nm of maximum torque. Controlling all that power before sending them down to the wheels is the eight-speed PDK transmission, which allows the Panamera to hit 100km/h in 5.4 seconds from a standstill. Top speed? 270km/h.

To help maintain the car's overall composure and comfort, Porsche redesigned its chassis system by incorporating some optimised parts like its adaptive shocks, electronic roll stabilisation, steering, mounts for the engine and axles, plus many more. You also get a couple of six-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake caliper manning the front, while the rear is taken care of via two four-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake calipers. And the whole system is lighter, too.

As stated above, the 2021 Porsche Panamera starts from RM1,026,735 before options as well as the SST exemption until the end of June. Head over to the nearest authorised Porsche Centre for further information.
