Supercharged Velar 3.0L petrol variant introduced
The latest arrival in Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia’s showroom is the Range Rover Velar 3.0L R-Dynamic, adding to the first two variants – Velar P250 and P250 R-Dynamic – introduced at its official launch back in April, and both using the 2.0L Ingenium powerplant.
The P380 V6 petrol engine is not just about a larger displacement, but it’s also supercharged for an output of 380ps (6,500rpm) and 450Nm (4,500rpm). It goes from 0-100kph in 5.7 seconds and with a top speed of 250kph. The transmission is a ZF-built 8-speed automatic that goes to the all-wheel drive system. Land Rover claims a fuel efficiency of 9.4 litres/100km.
Being an R-Dynamic variant, it shares the R-Dynamic Exterior Pack as seen on the top-spec P250, as well as 21-inch 10-spoke wheels, perforated grain leather/suede cloth seats, and Shadow Aluminium Trim Finish. There’s also the fixed panoramic roof and surround camera.
However, there are some upgrades which are exclusive to the P380 R-Dynamic, namely Electronic Air Suspension (ride height drops by 10mm when cruising above 105kph), Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist, and Extended Leather Upgrade pack.
Safety features include six airbags and a radar-based High-Speed Emergency Braking that operates between 10-160kph. This system sounds a warning to the driver of an imminent collision and will initiate braking if the driver doesn’t take any action to avoid the crash.
The new P380 Velar R-Dynamic is priced at RM722,787 and comes with the Land Rover Care Programme that includes a 5-year warranty, 5-year free service, and 3-year roadside assistance.
