Fancy a 1,350bhp hypercar that weighs 1,350kg? Orders are open for the Slovenian Tushek

Great news for all those who missed out on a Koenigsegg One:1 – Slovenian company Tushek has now opened the order books for its hybrid TS900 Apex hypercar.

What's that? You haven’t heard of Tushek? Or the TS900 Apex?

We jest of course. The company was founded in 2008 by Slovenian racing driver Aljoša Tushek, and we first saw the TS900 back in August 2019. At that point there were claims that the 4.2-litre V8 and twin electric motor setup would send 950bhp to all four wheels, with a carbon-fibre spaceframe and body keeping weight down to 1,410kg.

Now, the keen mathematicians among you will notice that those figures hardly match the 1:1 claim, but we have NEWS.

The updated TS900 is set to make its global debut at Salon Privé London next week, and Tushek now says that it produces over 1,350bhp and weighs under 1,350kg. That's... sufficient.

The claim is that this is the lightest hybrid hypercar on the market, with a “patented electric drive system” using “the world’s highest power density drivetrain” that “utilises aviation-derived electric drive technologies, combined with a high-performance ICU”. Whole lot of quote marks there, we know. We’ll reserve judgement until we get behind the wheel.

Just 36 examples of the TS900 Apex will be built, with each one starting at £1.25m. Apparently there will also be something called the TS 900 RacerPro – a track-only version limited to 12 examples, with a power to weight ratio of 1.13:1.
