Someone stuffed a 200hp race engine into this Suzuki Katana

If you love Suzuki motorcycles, the classic Suzuki Katana is indeed an iconic model worthy of awe and praise (although a few folks might be on the opposite side of the fence). But what if someone stuff a 200hp WorldSBK-spec engine into this iconic beauty? Will that help to changes things up a bit? It sure did for us!

Team Classic Suzuki has been producing a number of tasty Suzuki vintage race bikes over the years, but their latest project might just take the cake. With most race series being cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19, they have some free time, which they wisely used to build this 200hp Suzuki Katana.

They somehow got their hands on a Suzuki GSX-R1000 WorldSBK-spec race bike that was used by Alstare Racing back in 2008 and got to work on building a Katana around it. Everything about this Katana is race-derived or race-inspired, which blend exceptionally well with the Katana's fairing, race belly pan, and a custom rear end to complete its overall 'sleeper' facade.

We also love how the oversized swingarm manages to hide the rear brake calliper together with the twin rear Ohlins shock absorbers. Altogether, it's definitely a clean build and when presented to the right rider, we're pretty sure it can smoke anyone and get them confused while thinking "Did Katana just rocket past me like I was standing still??" There are some brilliant minds over at Team Classic Suzuki.
