In a bid to enhance the digital shopping experience for its customers, Shell Malaysia Trading has launched an official store in Shopee Mall. The company believes that the e-commerce platform, purportedly the leader in Malaysia's digital retail space, can help engage a wider customer base and give them the opportunity to purchase genuine products directly from the company. 

All Shell lubricants sold via the Shell Lubes Official Store on Shopee Mall are guaranteed to be 100 percent authentic and come with a 15-day free return policy and free shipping nationwide. The online store currently sales Shell Helix passenger car and Shell Advance motorcycle engine oils, with official merchandise and Shell Select products expected to join the virtual shelves in the near future. 

The introduction of an official online retail platform follows Shell's pursuit of unauthorised retailers and fake lubricants sold primarily over the internet. The company clamped down on 179 online shops and removed 278 illegitimate online listings within the first six months of 2020. It even aided enforcement officers from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) in a raid of a facility containing courier packets of fake engine oil destined for online shoppers all over Malaysia in July. 

For consumers who still prefer purchasing their lubricants the traditional way, Shell encourages them to authenticate them via the "Untuk Pasaran Malaysia"  label and accompanying QR code printed on the packaging.
