Meet the latest addition of the 718 Cayman family from Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) – the 718 Cayman SportDesign. Main details for you to know: it’s available in three colours of Racing Yellow, Guards Red, or Carrera White Metallic; and each is limited to five units only. That makes the 718 Cayman SportDesign limited to just 15. How’s our maths?

Changes are largely and strictly to make it look sporty including using 20 inch wheels compared to the standard 18 inch on the base Cayman. And the buyer gets to choose between Carrera S or Carrera Sport Wheel design, both in high gloss black finish.

The SportDesign package includes front spoiler, black accents on the door handle, new rear apron, and black tailpipes for the centre-placed sports exhaust system. The LED headlights comes with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), while the subtle carbon fibre elements completes the 718 Cayman SportDesign look

Inside, you get the carbon decorative and black leather interior package, 14-way power seats, and a Bose sound system with 10 speakers.

Like we said earlier on, performance-related changes are limited, comprising of Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) which helps to drop the roadster’s body by 10mm as well helping with handling. Also included with the car is Sport Chrono Package which with the PDK gearbox makes the car go from standstill to 100kph in less than four seconds.

SDAP is selling the Porsche 718 Cayman SportDesign at RM625,000 (not including road tax & insurance) which comes with a four-year warranty and free maintenance package.
