Didi Automotive is now the official distributor of Royal Enfield in Malaysia
It's been a while since we've heard anything related to Royal Enfield here in Malaysia, until last weekend. Apparently, they've elected Didi Automotive Sdn Bhd as its official distributor partner here in Malaysia and this is with immediate effect from the brand's previous custodian, SNH Bhumi Corporation. FYI, Didi also handles Harley-Davidson and all Piaggio brands for the local market.
For those who didn't know, Royal Enfield is the oldest motorcycle brand that is still in production dating back to 1901. A long list of interesting classic and retro bikes have been launched over the years, including one of favourites, the Himalayan 650 (which is not a classic bike, but a dual-purpose machine).
Since COVID-19 messed up with a lot of things around the world (including the brand's 120th year anniversary last year), Royal Enfield is setting up to celebrate that this year with a host of different activities, launches, and more. We're hoping that we can see some interesting models to arrive at exciting prices in the coming months.
According to Rewi Hamid Bugo, Chairman of Didi Group, "At Didi, we always believe in providing the best lifestyle mobility solution by challenging ourselves to deliver the ultimate motorcycling ownership experience. We are very proud to partner with the world’s oldest motorcycle brand in continuous production and further diversify the offerings to the motorcycle enthusiasts in Malaysia."
"In the past few years, Malaysia has seen a growing demand for evocative, easy-riding motorcycles that offer pure motorcycling joy. Our aim is to have the presence of Royal Enfield in every state of Malaysia providing the best ownership experience from sales, after sales and rides. With Royal Enfield we hope to drive this even more by providing an accessible and quality riding lifestyle that includes activities and showroom touch points nationwide," added Mr Rewi.
