Proton's motorsports arm, R3, is back with a new range of Premium Engine Oils

In a bid to reconnect with fans as well as overall brand expansion, Proton's motorsports arm, R3, has officially launched a new range of lubricants called the Premium Genuine Oils. Developed together with Petronas, there are two offerings on sale which are the P1 fully-synthetic and the P2 semi-synthetic formulations.

Formulated using the latest Petronas Etro 6+ base oil, both the R3 P1 and P2 engine lubricants are designed to fight excessive heat and ultimately offer better performance together with its SP and SN Plus ratings as well as meeting with the highest levels of certification from the American Petroleum Institute (API).

According to Lee Yeet Chuan, CEO of Proton Global Services, "The launch of our new R3 Premium Genuine Oil range and merchandise products is the first step in R3’s rebranding journey. They will be sold to the public via our Premium Merchandise Partners in 20 locations throughout Malaysia. There will be more product launches coming up in the future, including accessories for Proton car owners, which will help us build our connections with R3 fans."

The R3 P1 SAE 5W-30 fully-synthetic formulation is priced at RM208 while the P2 SAE 10W-30 comes in at RM158 for every four-litre bottle. There are, however, special introductory prices of RM178 and RM128 respectively from now until 30 April 2022. There is also a range of new R3 t-shirts and caps available at all Premium Merchandise Partner locations.
