Proton X70 joins Malaysia's fight against Covid-19

By daryl, 30 March 2020

From doctors and nurses to police officers and deliverymen, there are many front liners among us working tirelessly to keep Malaysia running as we approach the halfway mark of the Movement Control Order (MCO) implemented to curb the coronavirus outbreak. Now, the Proton X70 has joined the squad too.

The national carmaker recently delivered 50 units of its hugely successful SUV to the Ministry of Health recently in support of the latter's ongoing efforts to uphold public health amidst a global Covid-19 crisis. The X70 fleet will be primarily used to ferry medical workers to and from work, as well as to any hot spots in the country that require urgent medical attention.

On the consumer end, Proton's operations remain closed as part of the MCO. However, its official hotline (1-800-888-398) is still open 24 hours a day to respond to emergencies such as breakdowns and accidents.
