Proton will be launching FOUR new special edition models this week

By daryl, 15 February 2021

After months of spyshots and the occassional tease, Proton has finally confirmed the impending arrival of FOUR special edition models. This includes the Black Edition versions of the Persona and Exora as well as the Saga and Iriz in the more intriguing R3 Limited Edition specification.

Given the scale of the launch, we won't keep our hopes up for any substantial technical updates; initial rumours of the Iriz and Persona inheriting the Saga's Hyundai-sourced 4AT have largely been shot down. That said, it'll be interesting to see what visual cues R3 will bring to the table for the Saga and Iriz. Proton's performance division has been relatively quiet ever since the collaboration with Chinese carmaker Geely came into effect.

All four special editions are scheduled to launch virtually on 18 February 2021 at 11AM. Malaysians can witness the digital event on the Malaysian carmaker's official Facebook page while those who want to register their interest for any of the aforementioned models can already do so HERE
