Ladies, who wants to be a race car driver? Because here’s your chance to get into the scene with the MSF-R3 Lady Racers Search. You all should know R3, the race and rallying division of Proton which in its more than 15 years of history have been successful in local and international races. Then there’s MSF, a locally-grown racing series that has grown into the largest grassroots motorsports event in Malaysia.
So in between these two, the ladies who participate are in good hands. The aim is to allow Malaysian racing drivers and teams access to information, team management and car development techniques that will help to elevate their performance and lead them to success at national level events. It is also an opportunity to discover talented lady racers and nurture their careers, giving them a good head start in a male dominated arena.
The initial pool of talent will end with three individuals with the opportunity to develop as racing drivers and even participate in the 2019 S1K race. They will even drive a Proton R3-preppared race car. The selection will be based on how the participants perform in the on- and off-track activities on top of their teamwork, discipline, commitment and driving skills.
Another activity currently being run is the MSF-R3 Mentor Programme where selected drivers and teams participating in MSF SuperTurismo races using Proton cars will be supported by Team Proton R3 personnel for the series’ remaining three races this year. Only technical input and set-up before and during the race will be provided, although the teams will continue to be run in its original arrangement.
