The long-awaited new National Automotive Policy 2020 (NAP 2020) was announced earlier today, and its effects can be felt almost immediately. On that note, Honda Malaysia announced a revision in price for three of its core models, those being the Jazz, City and the CR-V.

Yup, the bad news here is that there is a price hike of up 5 and 9 per cent across the board (depending on model). Good news here is that the price revision only affects the non-hybrid Jazz and City models, as well as the CR-V for now.

Honda Malaysia says the price hike came as a result of the government’s review of the customised incentive for locally assembled (CKD) products. The new NAP 2020 announced today sees some changes to this arrangement for Honda Malaysia, to which the firm is fully complying with.

Here’s the complete overview of the price hikes on all three models for both Peninsula Malaysia and East Malaysia:

With Honda Malaysia being one of the first to see its prices affected by the NAP 2020, we’re certain other manufacturers will also announce revised pricing on selected CKD models. We’ll have more on them as details surface.
