The new Panamera Sport Turismo is now officially in Malaysia and available in three variants: Panamera 4 Sport Turismo, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo, and the Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo. The 4 Sport Turismo starts from RM990,000 with duties (but without registration, rod tax and insurance).

The 4 e-Hybrid Sport Turismo starts RM1,125,000 while the Turbo Sport Turismo is RM1,940,000.

Sime Darby Auto Performance CEO, Arnt Bayer, during the launch event.

The Sport Turismo is the first Panamera that offers three seats at the rear as standard, although the car’s tall transmission tunnel makes sitting in the middle potentially uncomfortable. Having said that, you can opt to make it a four-seater Sport Turismo by having the centre console go all the way to the back. This way, the two individual seats become electrically-adjustable for better comfort.

“For Porsche, the Panamera Sport Turismo is a shooting brake concept that promises more practicality with the power and performance expected of a Porsche. The technology includes the digital Porsche Advanced Cockpit, chassis systems such as rear axle steering, the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC Sport) electronic roll stabilisation system and breathtaking powertrains,” said Arnt Bayer, CEO of Sime Darby Auto Performance.

Breathtaking powertrains? That’ll be a turbocharged 2,995cc V6 making 330hp and 450Nm. The 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo also runs a V6 but a biturbo 2.9-litre unit together with a 136hp electric motor for a total output of 462hp and 700Nm of torque.

The expensive Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo packs a 4.0-litre V8 which makes 550hp and up to 770Nm of torque. All three variants have all-wheel drive with the 8-speed double-clutch PDK gearbox

[Average fuel consumption for the 4 Sport Turismo, e-Hybrid, and Turbo variants are 7.9-7.8L/100km, 2.5L/100km, and 9.5-9.4L/100km respectively]

Porsche Traction Management (PTM) comes standard in all Porsche Panamera Sport Turimso to provide optimised handling and dynamic from its AWD package. PTM is made up of an electronic map-controlled multi-plate clutch, automatic brake differential, and anti-slip regulation; which together regulates the drive force between rear and front axles.

The tail-end of the roof comes with a three-stage adaptive spoiler which can generate up to 50kg of downforce on the rear axle. Oh sure, it’s not as dramatic as the folding one seen in the Panamera, but now it can manage wind buffeting if the panoramic roof is opened at speeds above 90kph.

The extended roof line of the Sport Turismo lends a larger rear cargo space by 20 litre compared to the Panamera sports saloon. So now you get 520 litres, and 1,390 litres with the seats folded down. The e-Hybrid, however, is slightly compromised due to the battery, thus providing 425 litres and 1,295 litres.

All cars sold by Sime Darby Auto Performance comes with a four-year warranty and free maintenance package which includes complimentary service, parts, and labour.
