Pogea Racing’s McLaren ‘666S’ is devilishly fast

McLaren’s entry-level supercar, the 570S, does 0-100kph in 3.2 seconds and tops out at 328kph. It is emphatically Not Slow, but apparently there are power-hungry folks out there who want MORE (but for some reason cannot be bothered to do the obvious thing and save up for the far superior 720S).

Pogea Racing is one of many tuners selling bits for the 570S. The German company’s kit costs €11,000 (approx. RM54,771.20) and includes special 20-inch alloy wheels shod with Michelin rubber, KW coilover suspension, an ECU tweak and shouty exhaust. Plus ca change. The result is 666 German horsepower, or 657bhp, 0-100kph in 2.9 seconds and a 333kph top speed. Good numbers, but we challenge you and your finely calibrated bottom to feel the difference.

If not from a standing start, your bottom may be able to spot the difference on the move, though. Pogea’s fiddling has liberated an extra 194Nm from the 570’s twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 engine. The tuner claims the 666S accelerates from 100kph to 200kph in just five seconds. From 0 to 200kph it’s 1.6 seconds quicker than standard.
