Pininfarina is now designing road trucks?

By sep, 30 June 2021

When Pininfarina comes to mind, the last thing you would think of is road trucks or lorries. Special edition Ferraris, Alfa Romeos, and even their very own hypercar would be amongst the first, but never an 18-wheeler. That's all about to change as Gaussin has launched its new range of road trucks for the future of transportation, with a huge dose of design DNA from Pininfarina.

The new range of Gaussin road trucks has been developed with two major components in mind. Its revolutionary modular skateboard platform is powered by either hydrogen or electricity to represent the future of transportation, which is paired with high levels of comfort, safety, and style thanks to the added design elements from the Pininfarina.

These trucks will be used for multiple tasks and functions which include construction, waste management, and we can't forget about the good old art of truck racing. Gaussin's overall offering will also include being aware of the environment as well as extending the travel range by up to 1,200km when both electric and Hydrogen are combined.

According to Kevin Rice, Chief Creative Officer over at Pininfarina, "We are happy and proud of this collaboration with Gaussin, a recognized player in clean and innovative mobility. Pininfarina Group is deeply involved to designing customer journeys and unique user experiences merging physical and digital worlds through aesthetics and technology. We are convinced that the combination of our know-how will lead to the success of the new range of trucks developed by Gaussin."
